Merly grew up in Glendale and has been married for 20 years with three kids who keep her busy and grounded. She joined Gracelight Community Health three years ago, drawn to the opportunity because it was close to home and near her children’s schools.
Since then, Merly has grown into her role as Lead Medical Assistant at our Westlake North clinic. She started in pediatrics and gradually expanded her skills to support both lab and adult care. “I’ve learned so much by being open to new experiences,” she said. “Every area teaches you something different about teamwork and patient care.”
Her goal is to keep growing and continue being the best lead she can be. Merly describes herself as someone who lives one day at a time and focuses on being present in every moment.
When asked to describe Gracelight in one word, she chose “family.” “That’s what it feels like here,” she shared. “We care about our patients like they’re family, and I’m proud to represent this organization.”
Merly also believes there’s always room to grow together, especially when it comes to communication. “We can always keep improving,” she said. “That’s how we get better as a team.
