Gloria M. Alvarez Zotelo has spent the past 15 years relying on Gracelight Community Health for care and support. At 68 years old, she has built lasting relationships with her providers and experienced the kind of compassionate care that makes a difference. With every visit, she knows she’s in good hands, which is why she continues to trust Gracelight with her health.
“My experience has been very good,” Gloria shares. “They have treated me very well. Echo Park is my main clinic now, but when I needed podiatry and dental care, they sent me to Hollywood. Both locations are excellent.”
Gracelight has played a significant role in managing her health, especially when it comes to her medications. She remembers struggling with a cholesterol prescription that caused severe stomach pain.
“I let my doctor know, and they changed it right away,” she explains. “They even gave me something to help with the pain. Over the years, my cholesterol has gone down, and whether I visit in person or call on the phone, they always help.”
Beyond medical treatment, what Gloria values most is how Gracelight prioritizes clear and comfortable communication for patients.
“If a patient doesn’t speak English, the provider always finds someone from the staff to translate,” she says. “It makes a huge difference. When you’re talking about your health, you need someone who understands you. It’s not the same when you have to explain things to a stranger. I like that they use their own staff for translations—it feels more personal.”
When asked to describe the Gracelight team in one word, Gloria immediately responds: “Perfect.”
“What they do for patients is a lot,” she adds. “Some providers don’t follow up or don’t really care, but that’s not the case here. They take the time to check in on us and are always patient. I have no complaints.”
Gloria sees Gracelight as a place where she isn’t just another patient, but someone who is genuinely cared for. Every visit reaffirms her trust in the providers who listen, the staff who welcome her, and the commitment to quality care that has remained constant throughout the years.
