Ernestina V. Hernandez, 46, has been a patient at Gracelight Community Health since 2015. Born in Puebla, Mexico, she moved to the United States in 2001 with her husband in search of new opportunities. Over the years, she’s come to see Gracelight not just as a clinic, but as a place that offers care and comfort when she needs it most.
Her healthcare journey took a serious turn when she was diagnosed with anemia. “They told me I might need a transfusion,” Ernestina recalls. “That was the scariest moment I’ve ever faced.” Under the care of Dr. Tambari at the time, she followed her treatment plan closely and took steps to better understand her condition. “Because of his support, I was able to take the medication and avoid the transfusion,” she says. “I took it seriously and made changes.”
Though she has not yet met her new provider, Dr. Olivares, Ernestina continues to feel confident in the care she receives at Gracelight. “Everyone here is respectful and welcoming,” she shares. “From the front desk to the people who call for appointment reminders, they’re always kind. They don’t treat you with attitude like in other places.” When asked to describe the team in one word, Ernestina says, “Professional.” Then she adds, “They’re also warm and caring. I love this clinic.”
After nearly a decade as a patient, she credits Gracelight with helping her take charge of her health in a way that feels empowering. “They helped me feel informed and supported at a time I was scared. That made all the difference.”
