Carlos Quinonez has been part of the Gracelight family for two years as a Registered Dental Hygienist, but his experience in the dental field spans more than two decades. Born and raised in South Los Angeles, Carlos is proud to serve his community, especially the Latino patients who come through Gracelight’s doors.
One of the things Carlos enjoys most about his job is the chance to build real connections with his patients. “Being able to speak Spanish with them helps break down barriers,” he says. “It’s not just about making them comfortable—it’s about creating trust. They know we’re here to help, and that makes them feel like they can open up, which is so important in healthcare.”
For Carlos, that trust is key. It’s what keeps patients coming back, knowing they have a provider and a team that truly understands and cares for them. “When they come in nervous and leave smiling, it’s because we’ve built something real, and that’s what makes this work so rewarding,” he adds.
Carlos also finds fulfillment in working alongside his colleagues at Gracelight. “I’ve been in this field for over 20 years, but I’m always learning,” he says. “The doctors and fellow hygienists here are constantly sharing knowledge, always looking to improve. It’s a supportive environment, and that’s what keeps me growing in my career.”
