At 40 years old, Arelis Siquina reflects on her journey with Gracelight Community Health. She first became a patient in 2021, but after leaving for a few years, she returned in 2025 to the East 3rd Street clinic.
Coming back wasn’t easy. “There were new faces, and nobody likes change. I felt uncomfortable and even a little intimidated by the changes.”
However her experience shifted. “It’s more organized now,” she says. “I can reach out directly to my doctor for care. At the same time, the nurses and staff make me feel at ease and welcomed. My doctor, Raizza, is just amazing beyond words.” Gracelight has also helped her stay on top of her health. She receives consistent follow-ups, referrals to specialists, and quick accommodation for hospital follow-up visits. “The doctors here really look out for me.”
When asked what she appreciates most, Arelis shared: “They are attentive. It’s not like a personal ‘hey friend’ type of care—it’s more like, ‘I’m your doctor, I care about you, and I want you to take care of yourself.’ It’s genuine care.”
For her, Gracelight feels calming and soothing, the opposite of other clinics that can bring anxiety. “This is my go-to, not salvation, but my home—my health home.”
With teary eyes, Arelis shared how the environment at Gracelight makes a difference in her life:
“You have people here who genuinely care about my health, and I couldn’t ask for more. Without them, I would have just given up. There are times when I feel so sick that even a smile from the clinic makes a change. I go in pale, weak, and in pain, but they pick me up.”
She also wanted to give a heartfelt thank you to those who have stood by her since her return: Dr. Olivares, Dr. Raizza, Brenda, Karina, and the pharmacy team. “Thank you so much for your patience and care.”
