Angelica Turcios first came to Gracelight Community Health when she was 21 years old. She had heard about the clinic from family and friends who told her it was a place that welcomed everyone, no matter their background or insurance. What she found was more than a clinic, it became a place that felt like home.
Over the years, Angelica received pediatric care, primary care, and nutrition support for her family. Each visit built more trust and connection. “The time I’ve spent with you all says everything,” she said. “I’m 100% satisfied.”
In 2023, Angelica’s life changed when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. The news was overwhelming, and she admits she was scared and unsure of what would happen next. But when she met with Family Nurse Practitioner Michelle Demitri, she found more than medical care. “People always say providers don’t have hearts,” Angelica said. “But Michelle prayed with me when I found out.”
That moment stayed with her. Michelle sat with her, listened, and made sure she didn’t feel alone. When Angelica’s insurance company made it hard for her to get the surgeon she needed, Michelle stepped in and fought for her. “She made sure I was referred to the right surgeon,” Angelica said. “I believe she saved my life.”
Today, Angelica continues her care at Gracelight, grateful for the compassion and support she’s found here. “You all have been with me through everything,” she said. “This place gave me strength when I needed it most.”
