We had the chance to sit down with longtime patients Florinda and José Ricardo González, a Hollywood couple who have made Gracelight Community Health part of their lives for decades. Originally from Mexico, Florinda has been coming to Gracelight for 38 years, and José for 15. Their story reflects what Gracelight is all about: care that lasts, relationships that matter, and trust built over time.
Florinda spoke warmly about her experience. “My experience has been very good. That’s why I’m still here. They’ve treated me very well and understood me.” She recalled how the clinic’s team discovered her diabetes years ago, a moment that helped her see how much the staff truly cared about her health. Even when she’s had chances to switch to other clinics, Florinda has never wanted to leave. “I’ve always chosen to stay here because I like it, the environment, how they treat me. I’m comfortable, and I won’t change.”
José shared the same feeling. “The staff is very kind. They pay attention to you and listen to what you have to say. The doctors, everyone is very good. Thanks to them, we’re here and doing well.”
For the González family, care at Gracelight has gone far beyond just doctor visits. Florinda talked about the many ways the team has supported her health. “They’ve offered me consultations with nutritionists, reminded me of doctor’s appointments, and helped adjust my medications when needed.” That consistent attention and flexibility have made a lasting difference in her care.
José agreed. “The care they provide is very good, including consultations with nutritionists. Honestly, everything is great, and that’s why we’re here.”

When asked what stands out most about Gracelight, Florinda didn’t hesitate. “For me, there’s no difference, because everyone is an excellent staff member. The doctors, social workers, pharmacy staff, nurses, for me, this clinic has an excellent team.”
José nodded and added, “The team is very efficient and wonderful. They treat you with a lot of respect and listen to you. In one word: excellent.”
As the holidays approach, the González family is looking forward to what matters most, time together. “We just want to be with family, with my children,” Florinda said. “I hope that everyone around us also has a beautiful Christmas with their families, because family is the most important thing.”
José shared the same sentiment. “What we’re hoping for is to be healthy with our children, and we also wish for those around us to enjoy their time with their families.”
Florinda and José’s story is a reminder that healthcare is about more than appointments or prescriptions. It’s about connection, consistency, and trust.
