QueensCare Health Centers Receives $50K Grant from Direct Relief to Improve Branding and Community Outreach Efforts Post COVID-19

LOS ANGELES, July 6, 2020 – Community health centers have been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic and are still struggling financially. QueensCare Health Centers (QHC) is excited to announce they received a $50,000 grant from Direct Relief to increase awareness of the organization and the services available to low-income Los Angeles residents in the communities they serve.

“The Direct Relief grant is the vital funding that QueensCare Health Centers needs to educate the LA community about the primary healthcare services available to them,” said Eloisa Perard, President and Chief Administrative Officer of QueensCare Health Centers. “We cancelled much of our in-person medical care services with the COVID-19 lockdown, leading to significant cuts in our revenue and exposure within the community.”

QueensCare Health Centers will be using the Direct Relief grant to increase brand awareness and community engagement. Most importantly, it will allow the organization to expand its reach via virtual healthcare and the provision of services to protect its patients in the many service areas. Today, more than half of QHC’s patients seeking medical attention are receiving care through their telemedicine program.

“As our health centers recently reopened for in-person patients, we’re excited to utilize these funds and increase our presence in the community and share about the services that are available and ready for patients,” said Perard. QueensCare Health Centers are located in Eagle Rock, Echo Park, East Los Angeles, Hollywood and now in Westlake. Offering primary, dental, vision care, and pharmacy and telemedicine services, these health centers help to maintain the health of some of LA’s most at-risk populations.
